Also named as Royal Road, Heavenly Street and Song Duanli Street, the Royal Street is the main access exclusively for the Imperial carriage. Both sides of the street are vibrant premises of shops and restaurants, the best known of which include the Alum Pavilion, Royal Fragrance Pavilion, and Fairies Pavilion. All the names and poems on the plaques, couplets and bar signs have their origins in the Song Dynasty, and this creates an environment and atmosphere of the ancient capital a thousand years ago. A national intangible cultural heritage, the stick puppet shows are presented every day at the Fairies Pavilion, and they bring historical figures back to life.
