Along the River during the Qingming Festival is a painting by the Northern Song Dynasty artist Zhang Zeduan (1085–1145). It is considered one of the most renowned Chinese paintings, and it captures the daily life of people and the landscape of the capital city Bianjing during the North Song. Successive scenes in the painting reveal the daily life of people of all levels of society and different business activities in rural and city areas, and they offer glimpses of the clothing and architecture at that time.
The Qingming Riverside Walk has revived the scenes and lives in the painting. Therefore, it is favored by TV series production crews. In addition to The Water Margin, they came here to shoot The Grand Mansion Gate, The Legend of the Condor Heroes and Blooming under the Full Moon.
